81-B0153

Bitumen emulsion is a dispersion of bitumen and water, with a cationic or anionic emulsifying agent. The bitumen content in the emulsion is around 60% and based on the mix stability, the emulsion can be Rapid Setting (RS), Medium Setting (MS), or Slow Setting (SC). Different types of emulsions require different tests; the most common are water content, setting time and residue on sieving.

Breaking Value of Cationic Emulsions Test Set

The breaking value is the amount of filler needed to coagulate a bitumen emulsion.

Emulsified Asphalt Distillation Apparatus

Used to examine the asphalt emulsions.

Glass Tube with Fused-on Glass Filter

Used for determining the penetration power of bitumen emulsions.

Particle Charge Tester

This equipment is used for the identification of anionic and cationic bituminous emulsions.

Setting Tendency of Bitumen Emulsions

Used for determining settling tendency of bitumen emulsions.

Storage Stability Tester

The test is based on settlement measurement conforming to NF T66-022.

Test Sieves for Mixing Stability

Used for determining the mixing stability of emulsions with cement.

Test Sieves for Residue on Sieving

Used for determining the residue on sieving of bituminous emulsions.

Water in Bitumen Emulsions Test Set

Used for determining the water content of bituminous emulsions by distillation.
