Main features
Compact and convenient, the Servo-Pneumatic Four Point Bend Apparatus Standalone features a digitally-controlled servo-pneumatic actuator that delivers highly accurate loading in both stress and strain control modes. Its beam cradle designed to subject asphalt beam specimens to four point bending with backlash free rotation and horizontal translation at all load reaction points. This new model is now designed to provide a range of precise strain measurement options - at top-center from floating beam (EN, Austroads), the neutral axis referencing the outer pivots (ASTM, AASHTO), or top-center referencing the outer pivots.

Controlling the Four Point Bend Apparatus Standalone is the Third Generation Integrated Multi-Axis Controls and Data Acquisition System (IMACS2) and UTS Neutron test application software.

The Four Point Bend Apparatus is of great benefit for your Superpave and other performance-based testing programs for measuring stiffness & fatigue properties, characterizing mixtures and as inputs into sophisticated pavement design models.

Additional Information

The specimen is laterally positioned by eye using etched lines as visual guides.
Servo-motor driven ball screws operate and adjust themselves continuously during the test, at one of multiple preset force levels, to ensure that vertical clamping of the specimen remains in full compliance with the standards at the clamping surfaces.
The Pneumatic Four Point Bend Apparatus is equipped with a bottom loading actuator with high performance servo-valve, PID closed-loop control and run time adaptive control algorithm that adjusts the command signal during the test. The control system uses load and strain feedback signals.

IPC Global’s UTS or UTS Neutron test and control software are known for their simplicity in use, clarity of results and analytical power. Developed from expert knowledge of applications, they feature real-time graphs for monitoring the specimen during the test; portable binary data files for sharing, reviewing & analysis; and ‘live’ transducer levels display. Selectable non-linear regression data fitting ensures reliable determination of phase and modulus.
UTS neutron also features three license levels to meet all user types, configurable user access rights, multi-language, plus optional Test Generator Wizard, Graphical block programing to create or edit tests and custom report creation.
